В Мексике рыбак случайно нашел обломки затонувшего несколько сотен лет назад корабля. Об этом сообщается на сайте Национального института истории и археологии Мексики Gobierno de Mexico.
Обломки были найдены в прибрежных водах поселка Махауаль. Их обнаружил местный рыбак Мануэль Поланко и сообщил археологам. Отмечается, что находка была открыта много лет назад, но к ее изучению специалисты приступили только сейчас.
Оказалось, что корабль затонул более 200 лет из-за удара о риф Кошмара. Данная территория усеяна обломками древних кораблей и получила статус культурного наследия.
Предполагается, что обломки найденного корабля могли принадлежать английскому судну конца XVIII — начала XIX века. От него остались якорь, пушки и чугунные конструкции.
Ученые назвали затонувший корабль в честь рыбака, но из-за возраста Поланко не смог погрузиться к обломкам.
Ранее сообщалось, что в Китае нашли древний сосуд с неизвестной жидкостью. Также Корреспондент писал о том, что семейная пара во время ремонта в доме нашла могилу викинга.
