Зуб нашли во время раскопок на берегу Днестра

Обнаруженному зубу может быть около 300 тысяч лет и принадлежит он Хазарскому мамонту. Зуб исследуют, а потом передадут в музей.

Ученые из Черновцов обнаружили зуб мамонта, которому может быть 300 тысяч лет. Находка является одним из самых древних остатков мамонта, которые когда-либо находили на территории региона, пишет Укринформ.

Артефакт обнаружили во время археологических раскопок на берегу Днестра. Зуб принадлежит Хазарскому мамонту, рассказал профессор кафедры физической географии, геоморфологии и палеогеографии Черновицкого университета Богдан Ридуш.

«У нас есть останки разных мамонтов. Из того, что уже опубликовано, у нас есть находка так называемого Хазарского мамонта, его зуб. Это один из предков обычного Шерстистого мамонта, который жил около 300 тысяч лет тому назад. Его нашли вблизи палеолитической стоянки на Днестре Молодова V», — сказал специалист.

Над зубом предстоит работать ученым. После проведения всех необходимых исследований, ценную находку передадут в природоведческий музей Черновицкого национального университета.

Ранее сообщалось, что в Мексике на стройке нашли сотни скелетов мамонтов. Благодаря такой находке, ученые надеются установить причину вымирания уникального вида древних животных.

Добавим, что в Германии нашли уникальный бивень мамонта.
